Thermal Precision Calculations
Ensuring your air source heat pump is perfectly sized for maximum efficiency and comfort.

This is a mandatory step under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for heat pump installations. It ensures that the heat emitters (radiators or underfloor heating loops) in each room are perfectly sized to keep that specific space warm at its target temperature, without wasting energy.

We provide a localised outside design temperature subject to MCS 031 requirements and CIBSE ventilation losses to determine the total heat demand (kW), which is then used to justify the specific heat pump model and emitter sizing (radiators or underfloor heating) at a defined low flow temperature. Summarised into an estimate electricity consumption graph, which is arguably the most important factor for the customer.

To ensure maximum system efficiency, we replace broad industry averages with precise technical modeling. Our engineers use advanced U-Value software to calculate the thermal performance of your home's unique layers, from wall insulation to roof build-ups, ensuring your heat loss report is as accurate as possible.
Precision sizing is critical because an air source heat pump operates most efficiently when running for long, steady periods rather than frequent, short bursts. An oversized unit leads to "cycling," which causes component wear and significant efficiency losses, while an undersized unit will fail to meet target temperatures during peak winter months.

For an Air Source Heat Pump to deliver on its promise of low running costs, the installation must move away from rule of thumb estimates. A bespoke design ensures the system operates within its optimum efficiency envelope year-round.

We believe that switching to an Air Source Heat Pump should be an exciting, seamless experience, not a weeks-long waiting game. That’s why we’ve streamlined our engineering process to offer a 24-hour turnaround on our detailed project reports.

Air source heat pumps are a versatile, future-proof solution suitable for any property type because their efficiency is driven by precision design rather than the age of the building. Whether it is a thermally efficient new-build or a characterful heritage home, an ASHP can be engineered to meet the specific heat loss requirements of the structure.

MCS isn't just a badge; it’s a guarantee of engineering quality. It mandates that we perform a full room-by-room heat loss calculation. This ensures your heat pump is the Goldilocks size, not too big (which wastes electricity) and not too small (which won't keep you warm). This precision is what will reduce your energy bills.

With over a decade of design expertise and an MSc in Renewable Energy (Merit), we combine academic knowledge with ten years of hands-on industry experience. We don’t guess; we engineer. By applying scientific principles to every bespoke design, we ensure your air source heat pump operates at peak efficiency.

In the world of renewable energy, homeowners aren't just buying a traditional heating system, they are buying future certainty. Air source heat pumps are sophisticated, and for many customers, the transition feels like a leap of faith. We Provide a report that is both highly detailed and easy to understand.
This service provides you with a customer proposal which will include all MCS requirements for MCS 3005-D compliance. We will always advise a survey is carried out but its not always an option for people who may not follow through with an install.
We appreciate you will have spent money on a survey, which is why this is our most affordable service. You source the survey, provide us with the survey report, we produce a design and handover the proposal.
Doing a design doesn't always need a professional survey, on the condition that accurate measurements are taken. You provide us with the information we need, we handover your heat loss report. *We will send you a check list on what we require.
We work closely with a Nationwide surveying company, they do the survey, hand all documents over to us, we do the design and hand both survey and design over to you. *24 hour turnaround starts from when the survey lands on our desk.
We will need a picture of you main fuse with AMP clearly visible (ensures a faster paced application), MPAN number from an electricity bill at the home owner address, and contact details of the home owner. We will send off the application for you using your companies email to respond to anything they might want to know.
Solar designs are now available at request. Whether you are curious how much you will generate for your roof space, or you're an installer that would rather outsource this part from their workload, we can help! *All we require is a picture of each roof elevation and leave the rest to us.
If you email us about something specific that we may be able to help with, then we will get back to you and if required arrange a phone call to discuss further. We may be able to point you in the right direction or offer advise on selecting trusted installers (we have worked with many!)

We can customize our proposals to include your company branding. All you need to do is send us an A4 cover sheet design and we'll ensure this is included in each proposal we produce.
